Info-Kayak is a module that Kayaks La Vanne has developed to improve the communictation with our clients (mandatory closing days, dangerous river flow or low water level,...).

Thanks to our Info-Kayak, you will be directly informed of the new rules in force, the navigation time tables according to the period of the year, the navigation banning due to the flow of the river.

So by a quick look on our website you will know if the kayak navigation is allowed or not on the river and you will not have to come all the way to our facilites for nothing!

Here's an example of not allowed traffic on the Semois :

Next to the text "Today" you'll find a "traffic light ". This light can only have 2 different colours: green or red. In our exemple, the light is red. It means that the kayak navigation on the river is strictly forbidden.

Under the light, you will find the reason why the traffic is not allowed. In our exemple, the banning is due to a low water level and the Walloon Region has decided to ban the kayak traffic on the river.

At the bottom, you can find the authorized time table for the kayak navigation. In our exemple, the navigation is allowed from 9:30 AM to 8:00 PM, the hour 8:00 PM means that all the kayaks should be out of the water for 8:00 PM maximum. Beyond that time, the customer can be penalized by the Walloon Region.

In this exemple, kayaking is completly authorized (as the green light indicates) and you can rent a kayak in our facilities to start the trip down the river. Reservations are strongly advised if you want to make sure to rent a kayak!

Kayaking is not allowed if the average river flow of the last 3 days is lower than 2,2 m³/sec or higher than 50 m³/sec.

When kayaking is forbidden due to low water level or too fast flow, the only thing to do is wait and check daily our info module "Info-Kayak" on our website.

It's impossible to foresee when kayaking will be allowed again on the Semois river, it depends on the weather conditions of the following days.
